Sherry Johnson:
Sherry is the owner of Enchanted Gardens and has served as chief financial officer since 1986. Sherry holds degrees in accounting and computer science.
Robert L. Johnson:
Robert has been the Manager of Cornell University's research ponds since 1966. These field sites support research, teaching, and Cornell Cooperative Extension activities of Cornell faculty, graduate and undergraduate students, staff, and many non-Cornell users.
In this role Robert facilitates the use of these research areas by the Cornell community and visiting researchers from around the world. Robert has been involved in numerous experiments on many species of freshwater ecology. Robert's primary focus has been on determining the factors that influence the growth of emergent and submersed aquatic plants. Robert has collected aquatic plants and insect herbivore data from lakes and wetland areas throughout New York State over the course of several years as part of research projects studying aquatic plants.
Robert conducts over twenty presentations and hands-on workshops for some 2000 individuals each year explaining freshwater ecosystems, with an emphasis on aquatic plant growth control. He also conducts another 10 presentation a year for groups such as lake associations, soil and water conservation districts, watershed groups, and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. He has also presented papers at international conferences.
Robert holds a BS in Agriculture and Life Sciences from Cornell University, and has completed another 31 additional credits at Cornell.
Steven K. Johnson:
Steve operates two successful Broome County NY businesses, Enchanted Gardens and Enchanted Gardens Canoe Rental.
Established in 1986, Enchanted Gardens, serves the local and outlying communities as a Retail Florist, Garden Center and a Landscape Design and Construction Firm. Enchanted Gardens has estimated, designed and constructed over one million dollars worth of commercial and residential landscaping projects.
Among the large projects Steve has completed was a stream bank Stabilization Project along the Delaware River in Delancy, N.Y. done for the Delaware County Planning board.
Steve served as a consultant for Young Associates, Greene, N.Y. on a project that involved the legality of securing a permit to mine Peat moss, adjacent to the Chenango River. This project included wetland delineation and mitigation design as required by law. Steve's research proved that the peat bog was formed as a result of an oxbow lake.
Enchanted Gardens completed an artificial wetland construction project for Broome County. N.Y., which involved harvesting and planting 1,900 wetland plants including shrubs and trees as well as the establishment of 2.5 acres of meadow.

Steve's other business, Enchanted Gardens Canoe Rental, offers canoe trips of various lengths along the scenic Susquehanna River through Broome and Chenango County. This business draws numerous visitors to the area each year, who marvel at the scenic natural beauty of the peaceful Susquehanna.
Steve holds degrees in Parks and Recreation Administration and Plant Science/Landscape Design, both from S.U.N.Y. Delhi. Continuing education at Broome Community College.
